Body Work and Massage Modalities

With Aubrey

Miss Aubrey is certified in an exclusive, highly specialized form of massage practiced by only a handful in the U.S. It’s a closed practice—while anyone can receive the work, only hand-selected individuals can become practitioners. Candidates are chosen based on their natural ability to help others, with professionally trained ballet dancers often preferred due to their deep physical awareness. Because both ballet dancers and certified practitioners are rare, those like Miss Aubrey are in high demand.

Body Work “types” that Aubrey performs:

Stress Body Work, Sport/Athletics Body Work, Grief and Isolation Body Work

Other modalities that Lilly and Ava use:

Deep Tissue Massage or Energy Work

Each session price and availability is set by practitioner

Play “Therapy” for Women

Proceeds from Nostalgia sessions go to local organizations for women and children.

I am also here while piecing the page back together to officially talk about something else that Aubrey exclusively offers- Nostalgia Play Therapy and Nostalgia Immersion for women.

When I entered the space she uses for her nostalgia work, I started crying and asked if I could move in. The attention to detail is amazing. I felt like I was 10 years old again. I’ve been to retro themed places in Chicago, but nothing holds a candle to this. It is literally like you traveled back in time. Like you walked into your best friend’s house when you were a kid. Absolutely nothing has been altered. The space is frozen in time.

Reviews for the Body Work and Nostalgia Experiences

Driving in from Chicago is worth it for my retro therapy. That’s what I call it. And it’s worth every inch of Chicago traffic and every cent. I always make sure to book a double session, whether we are doing play therapy or spending time time traveling. The fact that Aubrey does what you’d expect anyone in a home in the pre-2000’s to be doing…sometimes she carries on with her day like I’m not there. Then I get to pretend that I really live here. People pay for stranger things. It does really feel like I’m back in the 90s!

The last time I had a massage or bodywork like what Aubrey did with me was when I was on vacation in New York. When she said this is the kind of work that she does on her professional athletes I said yes, that. And boy does it work! I left the session feeling lighter, both physically and spiritually and was more flexible than I’ve been since high school.

You tell Aubrey what kind of experience you want. If you just want to play with the toys, or have the real life experience. From that information she steers things the way that would give you the most realistic time. And she has things I haven’t seen since I was ten years old. It felt like I was at my Aunt’s place for the summer. And if you didn’t have cool aunts, well now you do!

As an actor, I can definitely see why the body work that she does is so beneficial for people who act. She mentioned that a lot of her clients who are actors would come to her either during or after filming or portraying very intense, emotional roles. And that a lot of actors aren’t aware of the physical toll that pretending stress and trauma takes on your body. She found tension in my body from a role I had done over five years ago. I hadn’t mentioned the role to her or the physicality involved in that particular role. She also found the emotion that was still in my body from that role that I had never fully released.

I learned about this from my daughter who wanted a 90’s experience, even though she wasn’t even alive then. But when she started talking to me about her experience, I knew I had to try it for myself. This was a dream come true! I really got to go back to the 80’s! For the record, she will ask when you were born and tailor things to you. You really are back in time here, and I know that’s the point.
